• Of the manufacturers interviewed in the study, 4 out of 10 see a direct link between cloud technologies and how they will be able to innovate over the next half-decade.

• Two-thirds of the manufacturers interviewed admit that they are already seeing better insights into their work thanks to cloud technology.

• More than 90% of manufacturers interviewed rely on consumer tablets as they operate manufacturing.

• Manufacturers interviewed see cloud computing as one of the most vital technologies in boosting their market advantage over the next half-decade.

The report, titled The State of Manufacturing Technology, was compiled by interviewing 130 people in the manufacturing industry. They were asked about how they are currently adopting cloud computing, the Internet of Things, big data, and mobility technology in their business, as well as their plans to implement these technologies in the future.

The numbers how that more and more professionals in the manufacturing technology sector are turning to these principles and tools to keep up with ever-changing business models. The manufacturers interviewed for the report cover a wide range of facilities across the globe, although most of them are based in the U.S.
