Mission and key objectives

Mission:

Leading the development of Packaging and Interconnection capabilities in the Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems sector, providing a UK nucleus, globally recognised for its innovation and technology exploitation

• the exploitation of UK innovation and technology to strengthen the UK's position in the global manufacturing base (focusing on value added processes and products)
• the provision of a ready source of effective recruits, with ongoing training, to support the needs of this rapidly changing industrial sector
• the availability of a growing supply of technology translators to spread new technology throughout the supply chain

Key objectives:

• create a national network that has global prominence
• collect & prioritise industry needs for technology development (based on the EPPIC Challenge) leading to a rolling programme of research & training
• facilitate technology transfer leading to new business opportunities/IP/companies & improved products/processes in existing companies
• create a sustainable organisation
